Brakes

A fully functioning brake system is crucial to you and your passengers safety along with the safety of other drivers on the road. Your vehicle’s brake system involves highly engineered parts and precise movements that stop your vehicle by converting kinetic energy to thermal energy. When you press down on your brake pedal, the master cylinder pressurizes a system of hydraulic brake lines leading to each of the vehicle’s wheels. Brake pads or shoes then press against a disc drum and create the necessary friction needed to slow your vehicle to a complete stop. Over time this friction and heat has the potential to wear down the brake shoes, pads, calipers, rotors, and other braking components. Bad brakes will squeal or grind when in use, this may mean your brake pads are worn or require replacements. If your vehicle pulls to one side when braking, this may point to worn brakes, a malfunctioning caliper, or low brake fluid in the brake lines. If your brake pedal presses down too easily this may be an indication of too much air in the hydraulic brake lines. Our staff is trained in maintaining and servicing front and rear brake systems and all brake system components like brake pads, brake shoes, parking brakes, rotors, drums and hydraulic systems.

Tune-Ups

Regular engine tune-ups are necessary to optimize engine performance. A tune-up is one of the most effective ways to prevent unexpected engine trouble. Our staff may replace spark plugs, spark plug wires, air filter, fuel filter, and distributor caps, and rotor in your vehicle during a tune-up. We will check emission levels, fuel lines, belts, and hoses. Regular tune-ups can help extend the life of your vehicle and improve the health of your engine. Regular engine maintenance will help ensure that your engine performs at peak conditions, but there are also signs to indicate an engine repair service is needed. The check engine or service engine light is a sure sign that your engine should be looks at by a professional. A decrease in gas mileage and loss of power during acceleration are signs of an impending tune-up.

Full Diagnostics

Vehicles built since 1996 are equipped with an on-board diagnostics system that monitors engine performance. Discrepancies in performance levels are reported through your vehicle’s computer system. When the “check engine” or “service engine” light is displayed your should seek out an engine diagnostic service. Engine diagnostics allow our staff to gather helpful information about the operating condition of your engine. The information obtained during an engine diagnostic helps us determine the extent of suggested engine repair. The most common diagnostic trouble codes are generated to malfunctions in the power train. Most of the time your vehicles on board diagnostics system will detect an engine issue and store the corresponding repair code, which can be accessed by our staff at Rosco’s Repair. Slow cranking, rough idling, stalling, knocking, or pinging while accelerating are all signs that you should seed engine repairs or engine diagnostics to determine full extent of your engine trouble.

Exhaust

The exhaust system, located on the underside of your vehicle, is responsible for collecting and directing harmful emissions away from the vehicle. This reduces the amount of pollutants released into the environment and minimizing engine exhaust noise and force. The exhaust system is made up of pipes and tubing designed to streamline vehicle operation while maximizing performance and efficiency. Engines produce dangerous gases as a byproduct of the combustion process, the exhaust manifold collects the emissions from the engine and funnels the gasses through the front pipe to the catalytic converter. The converter transforms the gasses into less harmful ones, the muffler helps cancel out noise created by the engine while the tailpipe releases the converted gases into the atmosphere. Both your vehicle’s performance and your ability to drive can be affected by the exhaust system. You may need repair or inspection of your exhaust system if you hear loud noises during acceleration. There may be a hole or crack somewhere. If you feel drowsiness while driving or detect sharp odors this may be a serious sign that fumes are leaking through the vents and into the interior. Signs of rust or cracks indicate corrosion. Routine maintenance on your exhaust system will save you from having to replace the entire system down the road.

Air Conditioning

Not cool enough. Trust Rosco’s Repair to optimize your climate control systems with our advanced equipment. Suspension

The steering and suspension system on your vehicle is responsible for maintaining a smooth ride, driving performance, and helps the driver remain in control of their vehicle at all times. The suspension system converts forward energy created by bumps in the road into vertical energy that travels up into the frame of your vehicle. Suspension system components like coild springs and shock adsorbers help soften the impact of this force. All suspension system components weaken over time through stress during normal driving conditions. Off road or erratic driving can wear down suspension componets. Rosco’s Repair has the necessary equipment to identify and correct any issues your steering and suspension may be showing. We can determine whether your service is a minor adjustment or a replacement. Shaky, off-center, and stiff steering, excessive bouncing or swaying during bumps, are causes for a suspension system inspection. Uneven tire wear is also a sign of a suspension problem. Hitting a pothole can cause damage to steering and suspension components. Suspension problems will reduce the stability of your vehicle and your ability to control it.
